We're excited to introduce our natural soap collection! Here's what makes handmade natural soap special and why it's worth choosing for your skin.
What is Natural Soap?
Natural soap means different things to different people. At Divine on a Dime, we define "all natural" soap as products containing no synthetic or man-made materials. For example, while most commercial soaps use synthetic fragrances, we use essential oils—highly aromatic fluids extracted from plant leaves, flower petals, and tree bark.
Even when we occasionally use synthetic fragrances, we maintain our commitment to natural ingredients by avoiding unnecessary preservatives and dyes. We color our soaps with herbs and clays first and only use water-based pigments when natural options don't achieve the desired result.
The quality of soap depends not just on ingredients, but also on the soap-making method itself.
What is Handmade Soap?
Handmade soap is processed by hand in small batches. However, not all handmade soap is natural. Some companies use "melt and pour" glycerin soap bases and simply add color and fragrance.
Our soap is different. We make every batch from scratch using traditional methods—never melt and pour bases.
Our Soap-Making Process
We use a modified cold process method, starting with warmed oils and lye at higher temperatures than traditional cold process soap. Once the chemical reaction begins, we don't add additional heat, allowing the soap to cure naturally.
Our Ingredients
We use only the finest therapeutic-grade essential oils and responsibly sourced materials from around the world. Our soaps are completely free of:
- GMO ingredients
- Parabens
- Sodium lauryl sulfate
- Unnatural preservatives
- Petroleum products
Many of our soaps are 100% vegan, with a few varieties incorporating goat's milk, honey, or beeswax for their beneficial properties.
